Speculation has arisen regarding the potential split of assets between singer Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand, who recently announced their intention to divorce.
According to Msn.com, no pre-nuptial agreement was signed by the parties when they married just over 14 months ago - leaving the division of Perry and Brand's assets up in the air.
The British comedian, who may well use London solicitors to facilitate the separation, reportedly made a lot less money in the past year than his soon-to-be ex-wife.
Dorothy Pomerantz, a spokesperson for Forbes magazine, stated: "If you look in the last year, his biggest film was 'Arthur', he's got books and other performances." The source then confirmed that Perry has made a "ton of money" from her tours, endorsements and 'Purr', her own perfume line, potentially leaving her in a stronger position.
Forbes magazine went as far as to reveal both parties' respective earnings for the year, estimating Perry's to be in the region of £28 million, with Brand's standing at a much lower £4 - £5 million.
Although Brand actively filed for divorce on December 30th 2011, reports have claimed that the move came as shock to the 'Firework' singer. Mail Online reported a source as saying Perry is "devastated" that her marriage broke down, which may be true, given that she hasn't made a public appearance since the story broke.
