Guy Ritchie does not regret marriage to Madonna

Despite going through a well publicised divorce, director Guy Ritchie has claimed he does not regret his eight year marriage to Madonna, marieclaire.co.uk reports.

The high profile couple were married for eight years, having a biological son and an adopted child. Despite the divorce, however, Ritchie has remained upbeat, claiming he does not regret the marriage and that the time he spent with the pop star was a positive one.

When the high-profile couple divorced in 2009, they did so reasonably amicably, undertaking all their business with their solicitors behind closed doors, thereby giving the press no ammunition to use against them. Now, it seems, the effort appears to have paid off, with Ritchie explaining of how he has come to terms with the divorce and has taken all the positives from it.

This announcement, it is hoped, will help others seeking divorce solicitors to seek the positives of the situation, coming out of the marriage without the acrimony it can sometimes be associated with.

Despite likening the marriage to a "soap opera", Ritchie has explained how it was something he feels happy with.

Speaking to Details Magazine, Ritchie claimed: "I enjoyed my first marriage, it's definitely not something I regret.

"The experience was ultimately very positive. I love the kids that came out of it, and I could see no other route to take. But you move on, don't you? When you end up with a lot of the things you set out to chase and find you've stumbled into all sorts of hollow victories, you become deeply philosophical. I'm glad I got married."
