Yale Medical Group offers divorce advice

Members of the Yale Medical Group have highlighted the importance of maintaining social interaction after a divorce.

Health professionals have pointed out that keeping busy can help control feelings of insecurity, sadness or loneliness which are all commonly associated with a failed marriage.

In a report by kentucky.com, it was argued that spending time with close friends and family can provide a massive boost to divorcees, even if all they want to do is vent about their failed marriage.

It said: "Ask your friends and family for help. Believe it or not, people enjoy being asked for help, so give those who love you the chance to provide what you need. They will be able to offer you emotional, physical and spiritual help that will go a long way in helping you re-establish your confidence."

Hiring divorce solicitors to deal with all the ins and outs of a marriage break-up can free up the time to spend with friends; also helping to reduce any stress, anxiety or worries associated with the divorce process.

Adele Theron, an author who has just penned a book about coping with divorce, agreed with the Yale Medical Group's points.

In an interview with The Daily Mirror, she encouraged divorcees to develop a new routine by writing a list of things to do every single day.
